Programs and Operations Advisor

Background

Having recently graduated with an MSc in Human Rights and Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), I am excited to be joining the Forum family! I look forward to supporting the US team as the Team Coordinator, utilizing my master’s research on climate change induced movement and refugee law, in addition to my previous experience in advertising and public relations. Across the private and nonprofit sectors, I have coordinated media sales teams, as well as local and national advertising campaigns, researched and maintained media relations, and worked in account planning and education. I received a BA in International Studies and Strategic Communications from Elon University.

Originally from Durham, North Carolina, I have lived, worked and studied in Istanbul, Khon Kaen, Thailand, and London, landing in New York City in 2018.

Dream project

Following my master’s research, I would love to continue studying climate change induced movement and the inequitable effects of climate change on already vulnerable populations. There is a large protection gap within the current human rights framework and under refugee law for individuals and communities who are forced to move due to climate change related events. I would be excited to work to proactively identify vulnerable populations most at risk from climate change and help to preemptively mitigate possible scenarios in which these groups would be forced to flee due to climate change related events.

What floats my boat outside of work

I love traveling and being outdoors, I want to go anywhere and everywhere! When I’m home, I’m happy to take runs around the city, bake, and eat as much ice cream as possible!
