Background

I started out my career training as an accountant, working in audit. However, my volunteering experiences outside of work drew me into the into the not-for-profit world fairly early on in my career.

I was drawn to working for organisations that seek have positive, life-changing impacts on the lives of others. These include most recently as Director of Finance at Citizens Advice, and before that as Chief Operating Officer at BBC Media Action.

And now I work at Forum for the Future, because there is no more important mission for us all than seeking a just and regenerative future, and I want to make my contribution towards that mission.

Dream project

My ideal project that one that (a) is highly impactful on reducing climate breakdown; (b) starts having impact pretty quickly; (c) is collaborative and inclusive.

What floats my boat outside work

I generally enjoy anything competitive – whether charging around the hockey fields of South London, or losing to my kids at the latest board game.

Scaling renewable energy offers affordable, reliable energy and fights climate change. However, unregulated deployment may bring environmental, social, and human rights issues. We collaborate with energy change actors to co-create a vision and principles for socially equitable and environmentally responsible renewable energy.

The Five Capitals - a framework for sustainability

The Five Capitals Model provides a basis for understanding sustainability in terms of the economic concept of wealth creation or ‘capital’. Any organisation will use five types of capital to deliver its products or services.
