Why work at Forum for the Future?
We do our best to make Forum a great place to work, and our annual staff survey consistently reports employee satisfaction of more than 80%. In 2012, we were a finalist for the Third Sector Excellence Award for Best Employer, and Top Employers for Working Families rates us in the best 30 employers list and in the top five for flexible working.
- Our benefits. We offer generous holiday, sick pay and family leave provisions, with maternity pay well above the statutory minimum. We also pay six per cent of salary into employees’ pension plans, have a life assurance policy for permanent staff to sign up to and offer salary sacrifice options and sabbaticals.
- Our approach to your development. We hold “learning days” each quarter to develop employees’ core skills, and twice-yearly “away days”, when the whole organisation meets to build on our strategy, share learnings, have some laughs and renew our common commitment. More informal knowledge-sharing takes place through our “Brown-bag Lunch” and “Little Grey Cells” events.
- Our flexibility. We try to accommodate any request to work part-time, work at home, or work flexible hours, as long as it is operationally feasible.
- Our values. We make a real effort to live by our values of commitment, respect, cooperation & learning, openness - and fun! We are also committed to the successful development of an equal opportunities policy, and invite applicants to complete an equal opportunities form to help us implement and monitor it.

Learning through internships
We regularly offer internships throughout the Forum, giving people the opportunity to acquire experience working in the sustainable development field whilst helping us to achieve our mission by expanding our resources.
The placements can be full or part time, and are for a minimum of six weeks. Vacancies will be advertised on this page, but we also welcome applications at other times, so please send your CV and a covering letter to email@example.com if you are interested. In particular, we have regular opportunities for food system research internships. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about what’s involved.
All interns have a dedicated supervisor and are encouraged to attend in-house meetings, training sessions and informal staff events while they're working with us. We also offer careers advice and information on applying for jobseekers allowance and other benefits.
Our internships are unpaid, although we do contribute towards travel and lunch costs. We also subscribe to the standards for ethical internships developed by the Interns Network.
For more information please contact email@example.com
Pro bono work
Forum occasionally offers pro bono work to professionals whose experience can contribute to our work. We welcome approaches directly, and particularly from those who can contribute to our communications function. If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
