Global Financial Planning Manager

Background

I am responsible for all of the financial planning that takes place across Forum and our four different offices spanning four different time zones. Ultimately my goal is to support the organisation in making the maximum impact it can make with the resources at its disposal. My responsibilities also extend to oversight of the smooth running of systems and processes to ensure that the organisation has timely and accurate data to support decision making. Managing the complexity of many moving pieces and considering the opportunities for improvements both how we source, but also look at data for improved operations is the most rewarding part of my job.

I am also lucky in that I get to provide support right down to project level, as all information ladders up, and therefore get to engage with our interested and talented staff in all of our locations!

Prior to joining Forum, I spent 6 years at PwC working in a variety of roles in Assurance, Internal Strategy and Regulatory Consulting. In this time I qualified as a chartered accountant and also took a year out to do some wandering around the world.

It was during this time that my interest in environmental and sustainability issues picked up, where, lucky enough to spend some time diving in South East Asia, I would emerge after each dive with pocketfuls of plastic waste I had picked up. When the opportunity to join Forum came along, I jumped at the chance to be part of an organisation with such an exciting vision for solving important problems and shaping the future through system-wide change.

What floats your boat outside of work?

Scuba Diving and Hiking are two of my principal loves, and so naturally I live in… Camden. Here you might often find me strolling down Regent’s Canal or engaging in some sport in some way, for example playing Cricket (badly) in the summer. I also tend to escape back to the West Country when I can to the clean Devon air I grew up in. This year I want to learn Spanish and Kayak the Norwegian fjords.
