Anita Tiessen 


Anita has worked in international development and human rights for more than two decades, and is a trustee/advisory board member for organisations working in the children, human rights and social policy sectors, including for the Children’s Commissioner for England.

She is currently the Deputy Executive Director for UNICEF UK, leading on the organisation’s communications, policy influencing and UK programmes work, including its work on climate change and sustainable development goals. Previously, she was Head of Communications at Amnesty International’s headquarters where she led global communication campaigns and started her career as a journalist and government communicator in her native Canada. She has recently completed an MA in Public Policy and Management.
