Background

My job involves running a range of projects that aim to help us live more sustainably in our cities.

Before joining Forum in 2009, I led international work on humane and sustainable animal agriculture at the World Society for the Protection of Animals, delivering projects, training programmes and awareness campaigns in Asia and Latin America, particularly in China and Brazil. For a long time I was a political campaigner, and am a former Director of Campaigns for the Liberal Democrats. But I actually started out in life with my head in the stars as a research astronomer!

What would your dream Forum project be?
The Bristol Programme with its wide range of different projects is pretty close to perfect for me, which is why I took the job. Otherwise it would have to be a campaign for the new economics we need, that exposes why our outdated GDP economics, based on old assumptions of infinite growth, are not fit for purpose in today’s finite world.

What floats your boat outside work?
The fantastic arts, music and creative scene in Bristol. A bit of sailing around in the harbour and quite a lot of prog rock.
