Values-led Leadership for a Sustainable World

Reconnections is a unique combination of critical debate, cutting edge analysis and reconnection with the natural world – it provides a systematic examination of the values we need for a sustainable world, what they mean to you, and how to act on them in the context of your own organisation. Reconnections is all about increased effectiveness for leaders in sustainable development.

Our modern world is at a tipping point. Interlocking economic, environmental and social crises present both profound challenges and an unprecedented opportunity for change. But in what direction?

Corporate sustainability is a complex, fast-moving and multi-dimensional agenda. Many different stakeholders have to be engaged, and many different skill-sets are needed. But there are very few opportunities for hard-pressed business leaders to step back a bit, learn from others, review good practice and deepen their own personal commitment.

When were you last asked to take a long, hard look at the world, your place in it, your values and those of your organisation? To explore the roots of our interlocking economic, social and environmental challenges or your thoughts on consumer culture, human nature or the role of business in the era of accelerating climate change?

Reconnections 2010 focuses on the values we need for a truly sustainable future, explores what this means for professionals and their organisations, and inspires participants to take up the challenge of values-led leadership for a sustainable world.

Join us to:

  • Reconnect with the deeper imperatives and aspirations of learning to live more sustainably - with Jonathon Porritt
  • Explore the values that have shaped contemporary society, and how to move beyond them - with outdoor philosopher Kate Rawles
