Our work in the US

Background

Forum for the Future opened its first international office in New York in 2010 with only one employee. Since then we've grown rapidly, and today we now have a team of seven, with plans to expand further as our US-based work increases.

 

Forum’s work in the US

Our work in the US consists of maintaining partnerships with several leading US businesses, including Target, Ingersoll Rand, Levi’s, Nike, McDonald’s, PepsiCo, L’Oreal, and SC Johnson.

We've also delivered projects in conjunction with the Rockefeller Foundation, General Mills, DuPont, Coca-Cola, the EPA and Unilever.

Forum US operates as a project of Tides, the nation's largest fiscal sponsor. Its work is overseen by an Advisory Board which is chaired by Forum’s CEO Sally Uren, and has the following members: Kees Kruythoff, President Unilever North America; Jeffrey Hollender, Co-Founder Seventh Generation Inc.; entrepreneur and activist Bob Willard, a leading expert on the business value of corporate sustainability; Suhas Apte former VP of Sustainability Kimberly-Clark; and, Sarah Severn, Senior Director of Systems Innovation, Sustainable Business and Innovation at Nike.

 

Join our Leadership Network

This year, Forum for the Future US launched the Leadership Network - a community of leaders across the US, united by their ambition and capacity to create real and lasting change. Membership will equip participants with the sustainability knowledge, training and practical tools to innovate - and provide a platform for collaboration where solutions can be tested and successes shared more widely. Events

Forum US designs and hosts unique events for the Forum Network and our colleagues in the sustainability and innovation communities.

These events have included:

  • Annual US CSO Dinner with Forum Founder Director Jonathon Porritt
  • “Making the Business Case for Sustainability” roundtable event with Bob Willard, author of The Sustainability Advantage
  • The World We Made by Jonathon Porritt - three-city book launch tour with the support of Autodesk, Nike and Unilever
