More precrime

The Minority Report popularised the term precrime - events and motives before an offense has been committed. We have seen Climate protesters arrested before they had actually done anything http://bit.ly/9g0hSE and Twitter precrime http://bit.ly/bQrX7x. Now the British police are using The Crush (Criminal Reduction Utilising Statistical History) to stop crimes before they happen.

"The British Police have started using predictive analytics software to predict when and where violent crimes will be committed in the future. The Crush (Criminal Reduction Utilising Statistical History) was developed by IBM and analyzes parameters like crime records, offender profiles and intelligence briefings to look for patterns and identify potential areas where a crime may occur."

Apparently this technology has already helped reduce crime in Memphis. Did they have to call it The Crush?
