Lincoln University (the oldest African-American college in the US) is forcing obese students to take a fitness course before they can graduate. This could be part of a trend that's emerging in some places around mandating exercise.

This clearly throws up lots of questions around, for example,'fairness' and whether mandating will be more effective than incentivising orencouraging. Also, will similar approaches be used on carbon? Willpeople be 'forced' to attend low carbon lifestyle training or will we end up with schemes like personal carbon allowances?
